Submersibles, or Human Occupied Vehicles (HOVs), are manned underwater vehicles used for underwater research. These vehicles make it possible for explorers to safely journey to the high pressure conditions of the deep sea in-person. Submersibles range in their size, shape, and carrying capacity. Submersibles carry a variety of equipment including lights, high definition cameras, manipulator arms, sampling boxes, and more.
